Iphone!!!!!?

Im getting a iphone for christmas but i have to get it when i get back to oregon due to sales tax.

But i have a question, i heard that apple is going to have apps in febuary but you need to pay. So is it better to hack it or buy it from apple?

Also can you buy videos from the itunes on it? or is there no itunes on a iphone? But if there is how long does it take to download the videos?

thanks|||the iphone is a fully functioning ipod, including music, videos, podcasts and more. everything in itunes can go onto your iphone. it's the best ipod, actually, because the screen is so big. it doesn't actually use itunes, but no ipod has itunes on it. itunes is for managing your music and videos on your 'puter, and for putting those on your ipod. the iphone works the same way as all the other ipods.

yes, apple will release a SDK (software development kit) in febba, and apps will appear shortly thereafter. most will not cost much money, if any. they should mostly be shareware.

but hacking it these days is very easy and safe. i would stick with AT%26amp;T but hack it just enough to add 3rd party apps. there are some available now, though it's not a great selection. there are a couple great ones though, like a voice recorder, and fake gps thing that triangulates cell towers and wifi hotspots.|||To quote an ad I JUST saw on tv tonight for the iPhone...."why carry an IPod AND a phone when you can have both in an iPhone?" So.....assume that means an iPod is built into it somehow so that iTunes can be downloaded to it. Have no idea how long it would take to download the videos.....go to the apple.com site and watch their promo videos on the iPhone....might help you some....I remember they mentioned that downloads of tv shows and videos use a lot of memory space up.

Hope that helps.....call Apple and ask them at 1-800-My-Apple. What do you mean by "apps" in February? More additions to the iPhone?|||Well to start out.

You have to downgrade from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1.

The way to do that is....

1. Download this link

and save it to your computer.

then....

2. Hold both the sleeper and Home button till the phone turns off. Once it turns off let go of the sleeper and keep holding the Home button and put it in Restore mode. iTunes will recognize it but the phone will be turned off.

3. Hold Shift(for Windows) and click on Restore.

Hold Options(for Mac) and click on Restore.

Find the 1.1.1 Restore and open it.

It should start restoring.

Let it do what it should do.

It should restart and it should be on 1.1.1.

NOW!!!

On safari on your phone.

Go to the website called jailbreakme.com

Which should like this.

Scroll down to Install AppSnapp.

Follow through and your 1.1.1 should get Jailbroken.

and your done for the first half.

4. On Installer 3 go to Install.

Scroll down to Sources.

and Install Community Sources.

Now Back in the Install tab go to the System.

In the "System" Tab Install BSD Subsystem first.

then install OpenSSH after.

Next Scroll down to "Tweaks (1.1.1)"

Go to OktoPrep and install it.

Once it installs.

It will say "Your ready to update to 1.1.2"

Something like that.

Once done with all that.

Make sure your working on wi-fi.

Make sure its connected and everything.

Your done preparing for the update.

Next step.

5. Download and Extract this file which is the 1.1.2 Jailbreak.

1.1.2 Jailbreak

Once done with all that.

Make sure your working on wi-fi.

Make sure its connected and everything.

6. Once you got it extracted and everything.

go to that file and go to the __MACOSX folder and double click on the file called "windows MS-DOS" and enter your wi-fi's IP Address.

and follow the directions.

From there it might take about 10 minutes.

When its done restart your phone.

Once it restarts it will auto restart.

and your done.

Your jailbroken.

and you got AppInstaller on your iPhone 1.1.2.

Message me if you need any help.
