I am planning to buy the IPHONE 3GS from singapore through one of my friend there. My concern is can i subscribe to data plans of Airtel or vodafone here in india though i haven't bought the handset from them?|||Buy an unlocked one, or simply unlock it where you live. Then any SIM cards will be compatible.|||If you want to Buy an iPhone from Singapore and use it here. You will need an "Unlocked iPhone". Unlocked phones are just phones you can buy a put a SIM and use. Since Apple usually have tie up with service providers, if the phone is not unlocked and you need to unlock it(Which i dont recommend to do)
So just ask your friend to get an "unlocked iphone 3Gs" and send it to you.
