What kinds of earphones are compatible to use on iphone 4?

I noticed that common earphone has two bands on the jack whereas iphone's original earphone has three. I used 3rd party earphone on my iphone 3G and it might have caused some problems with it afterward (broken sounds when playing music). I'm afraid to use this 3rd party earphone on the new iphone 4, anyone know anything about this?|||If its not compatible when any earphone then its garbage. Toss it.|||go to iphone.com
